Before Snickers is receiving successful treatment for a serious case of founder (laminitis – painful inflammation and tissue breakdown in the hoof; sometimes causing permanent lameness) and is being reintroduced to gentle, daily handling and grooming and healthful nutrition. He and Ortega who look very much alike bonded quickly after the death of Ortega’s mother.
